Bakewell, Robert: An Introduction to Geology, 2nd Ed. V1 20 Sep 2010

Bakewell's book (1st ed. 1813, 5th ed. 1838) was probably the most widely read of the British elementary geology textbook during the early 1800's; Charles Lyell was drawn to geology as a result of reading the book. This is the 2nd edition of 1815, and is derived for the most part from Google Books image pdf file. It also includes a glossary of important geologic terms ('Vocabulary of Terms').
