Hi all,

I thought I should do the polite thing and introduce myself. I'm an Aussie woman who is currently spending 3 months in China for business with my partner while my two half grown children are fending for themselves back home (I dread to think what the state of my house will be when I return). My research for an e-reader has led me to these forums. When at home in Queensland, (Australia) I work as a Research Technician throughout the week and weekends see me busy with my small wedding and portrait photography business.

I'm an avid reader, but to my dismay, I can't buy any English books in China - well not where I am anyway - and I've somehow managed to speed read my way through the 17 books I bought with me in the first three weeks.. yes I'm not exactly getting a lot of work done am I.. Anyway I've decided to get an e-reader and have been looking at Sony's new 650 as most reports on it seem to be favourable. :)

I'm looking forward to browsing through all the forums and getting to know the other members..

:)

Good to have your company, Bindi. An Australian editorial colleague of mine has a son and daughter in China, so I sympathise with your problem.

By the way, my own indie publishing house has recently published a book by Queensland author Andrew Thelander called *Last Birds*. Pop into the bookstore section of our website (linked below) and if it interests you, just drop me an email of your preferred format and I'd be more than happy to send it to you with our compliments.

In fact, if you're short of reading material, just let me know of a couple of other titles that catch your eye and I'll send those, too.

Best wishes. Neil (ntmarrATbewrite.net [but use the @ sign, of course])

Hello and welcome. How terrific you are spending time in China. I have relatives in Australia and have visited there. I love your country. I live in the East Coast U.S.

Thank you for the welcome everyone.. :)

I've just ordered the Sony 650 reader but wont be recieving it until October.. but I shall start checking out the books available shortly as advised. I've already had a look at Neils site and was very impressed with the choice and price of his books... I can see my newsest addiction is going to be searching for ebooks.. :)
