Directly from ebookwise.com:
Can the eBookwise-1150 display Cyrillic or Asian characters?
No.
The eBookwise-1150 only supports English language, Western European and a selection of Greek and special characters. Documents using Asian, Cyrillic, or fonts for other languages cannot be displayed on the device.
I know the lBook supports Russian, but it's a tad more expensive than the 1150.

Well, you can buy a used REB1100 off ebay. The REB 1100 does support it, see

thanks a lot, guys!!!
eBookwise-1150 doesn't work with cyrillic symbols but it displays .imp files in Russian (as well as in any other cyrillic language). the best free software to convert any text format into .imp that i found is BookDesigner. The latest version of BookDesigner can be found the-ebook.org.
hope this will be helpfull for others interested in the topic.
once again, thanks for the help!
regards,
