Has anyone tried to order things from them yet?

Apparently, you can buy one online from here:

http://www.morsepet.com/default.asp?say=9&urun=381

Don't know whether it'll have English menus or interface, though.

I tried to contact them via e-mail. They didn't bother to answer ...

I have bought a V2 from them (the turkish supplier)... It arrived today - they seem pretty good to deal with.

You know where to buy the V2? Of http://www.morsepet.com, as it comes in Turk, I do not understand the page and I cannot buy it.
Although Jinke has since the new models V2b, V2t, V2d, V9, V9c and V9t leave 30-4-2007.
Sorry by my English, I am Spanish.

Hello all: I have sent this Tukish company an email this morning enquiring about their services and received the following reply.

'Yes we are the EU / USA / ME rep of Hanlin. We branded the unit as WalkBook internationally.
You can visit www.walkbook.net (http://www.walkbook.net) , but I beleive the English web site will be ready this week.
We are currently out of stock on V2 models, but I recommend the V8 for reading books. We are working on a SW in order to view PDF files on the V8 WalkBook.
But if you like the V2, there is 3 weeks of waiting list due to production.
The price for V8 is 348.00 USD; and the V2 is 418.00 USD including next day delivery DHL shipment to UK. '

All...

I am in communication with the people from this Turkish distributor:

I am visiting Tukey in the next couple of weeks and they are trying to arrange a meeting with me - Topics of discussion have not been mentioned yet, but they did say they think I could be helpful to their UK distribution service.

Perhaps anyone interested could start thinking up questions / suggestions to help me with the meeting - if it looks like it is going to go ahead I will post an email address for you all to send your ideas to (so this thread doesn't get flooded)

Just to update: this Turkish distributor has not responded to my last email - looks like the meeting is not going to happen - never mind: Their website is still working but vurrently only in Turkish. An earlier email did indicate that they are currently working on an english version of their site.

I have been to the website, http://www.walkbook.net/,
you have the choice of:
Turkish
English
French
and
Hungarian (dont ask me why)

The company seems very slow to respond to questions and inquiries. I was not impressed when we wanted to deal with them.

Hungarian (dont ask me why)

Cause they have a Hungarian contact who (hopefully) will be a local reseller soon. BTW the Hungarian site is professionally translated - which is really surprising. And this means that Cybook and Sony busted it, I intend to choose the Chinese gadget as the one I can fiddle with before buying.

One more thing: now they are selling V3 with the Vizplex display.

Hmm, according to their web site they are not, in fact, selling it now, or so the Coming Soon image that appears when you click Buy Now would lead me to believe. And when you check the links in the Where Can I Buy One section of their FAQs, you'll notice that only two of the five dealers actually do sell an e-book reader right now, and that it's the V8 and not the V3.

I am, in short, not terribly impressed.

I stand corrected, they are gonna sell it. As you may have read from other sources the Turkish are not in a rush to start the deliveries. I called the Hungarian contact who said that even the promo reader has not been sent to him. But remember the debute of the Cybook: the French website was in similar state before the start. And though V3 is not the most recent news, its Turkish copy IS. So you're right: nothing to be impressed of - it is interested for the geographically challenged unfortunate guys like me who cannot buy the other readers (sorry, PayPal and his friends are not so common here and I sure won't get one for this one transaction only).

Quite true,
Before I found a way to get my fingers around an IRex ILiad (next week hopefully!!), I was seriously thinking of getting just ANYTHING!!!:help::help

People in better connected areas, cant imagine how frustrating it is, to see for e.g. the Sony Reader, The Kindle, or ILiad in the news or in the media in general, and not being able to buy one or all of them (Yes I am being greedy ;) !!!!

You have my complete sympathy in this. Part of my frustration about all this is that I really would like to buy a V3 sometime soon, and having been until very recently unable to find a dealer in the EU, I was stoked about the news from Turkey as the next best thing. Hence my frustration when it turned out that said next best thing wasn't actually as good as I had been hoping for, re: coming soon.

Heck, right now, my most fervent wish regarding the Hanlin V3, even before things like Mobipocket support, is for Jinke to straighten out their sales and marketing approach. The V3 seems to fit my needs the best of all available e-book readers, but it's frustratingly hard to actually, you know, buy.

yeh, I emailed these guys a while back it seems to go down a black hole, and I noticed in some prev. threads others had the same experience. Saying that, they have updated their web site since then, but like others have mentioned they are not selling the v3 yet.

This site seems to hold some hope, for pple like me trying to buy in Europe:
http://www.apoloxxi.com/epages/apoloxxi_com.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectID=1670567

I am still waiting to see if anyone has any buying experience from them.

Hello Guys,
first of I am turkish. And I currently live in Turkey.
I am planning on calling them on Monday. Just a week ago a electronics review magazine reserved a three page introduction of the two men behind the company.
Perhaps they are swamped with local requests and that is the reason for the recent delays? I dont know, and also think that that is actually not a good excuse.
