When I switch display to horizontal orientation, the text at the top and bottom of the screen gets slightly washed out, which makes it hard to read. Has anyone noticed that and is it something to worry about?

The washed out text is the overlap from the previous or following page. Just ignore it and don't read it. You will see it on the next page.
