Not Irex related, but an interesting project given the number of units around. It does need a special cart to run homebrew but the dual screen and the potential for scribbling sound good.

Looks like a modified Nintendo DS.

Yep, it's a DS running homebrew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_DS_homebrew). Interesting, I didn't realize there was a linux for DS. I think the screen would be a bit small and low-res for reading eBooks, but I don't own one. Does someone here have one? How many pixels are there?

- Top Screen: A backlit, 3-inch, transmissive TFT color LCD with 256 x 192 pixel resolution and .24 mm dot pitch, capable of displaying 260,000 colors.
- Touch Screen: Same specs as top screen, but with a transparent analog touch screen.

it is a special cart which runs an alternative operating system which allows you to have homebrew etc on it. It costs about £50.00 but opens the DS to running all kinds of stuff, even playing MP3's etc.

You just plug your usb cable into the cart itself and your OS will see it as a removable drive.

That's pretty slick. How's the battery life?
