If you softroot the Nook does the B/N bookstore and The Daily still work over 3G as it did before the root? What about in the store wifi?

I've softrooted and granted, I don't have the 3G but I do have the wifi and that still works just as perfectly for me.

I have the 3G nook - yes - all the standard B&N functions work with a rooted nook

Thanks for the replies. I am now softrooted and the process went smooth except one step. I actually softrooted, went back to stock 1.4 and then softrooted again because of the problem. After I reverted back to 1.0 and the Nook rebooted on its own, I could not get it to shut off to put my sd card in. I would hold the power button down for 5 seconds like always but the screen would not go blank. The tulip and clock bar at top would stay there. If I touched the power button after doing this the device would go blank for a split second and then go through the start-up. After trying repeatedly to power down, I went back to stock 1.4, powered down no problem and added the sd card. I then reverted back to 1.0 and again could not seem to power off. With the tulip wallpaper and top status bar still on after holding power button for 5-10 seconds I treated it like it was off, held the < button hit the power button and it did the update to softroot. Anyone else had a problem like this. Very strange. Now I have to try to try to learn about ADB and averything else I can do now.

You don't need to know anything about ADB
Everything can be done using Trook and app manger.

Thanks for the info. I've looked at Trook a little. Where do I find and how do I install App Manager? Is there any guide for using Trook?

Step 1
download any app .APK files you like to your PC
Step 2
Connect your Nook to your PC via USB cable and copy .APK files to your Nook main SDcard
directory "my packages/unknown"
Step 3
Disconnect Nook from PC, run Trook, navigate to "my packages/unknown" and click on the app you want to install.

Pretty easy!

Thanks for the simple explanation Sarahsbloke. I didn't know about ADB and App manager either, tried to find information on nookdevs, maybe I just missed it, but it all seemed over my head!

Thanks for the instructions. One question. When you say "main SDcard" do you mean the internal sd that came with the Nook or the external one I installed? Thanks.

main = internal
second/backup = additional (sort of external)
