Here is an issue that took me a while to find since I just bought a MS Duo for the Reader big enough to waste space on music.

On the PSP and Mylo you can group music together by making sub-folders in the Music folder. However, on the Sony Reader it detects the music, but doesn't keep the groups together. Is there any way to sort music on the Sony Reader that anyone knows about?

I just bought a 4 gig memory stick pro duo thinking I could pack it with music, while having 1200+ books on the SD card. Since I use the Manager505, not Sony's trashware, I can easily import the folders on my hard drive I already have sorted into Collections, i.e., English Literature, American, etc.

But I can't figure out how to do it with music either.... With 3 gigs of music, the Sony Reader sorts ALL of the Allegro movements alphabetically!!! etc... which must be what you two are finding as well.

Since this problem impacts anyone who wants to actually USE the Sony Reader for both reading and listening to music, I'm sure many people would appreciate the advice of ANYONE who has figured this out? Sony?

THANKS!

Fred

Oh, the Manager505 is at the link above for anyone interested in that.

Hope to hear ANYTHING regarding two cards with music/books.

Apparently, the reader can only sort audio files alphabetically.

One would think that someone would or could write a quick app that achieved something *close* to a way of sorting music, or creating playlists or collections, simply by auto-renaming the audio files to get them to alphabetize in the desired order.

Has anyone heard of something like this?

I might even try doing it myself, but my programming experience is limited, as is my time -- and I don't even have my reader yet to test...

That's right - alphabetically by the ID3 tag of the title.

OK - anyone has the possibility to make the sorting work on the Id-Tag, by sorting through Album first, then sond-name ? IMHO - that shouldn't be too hard.
