When I bought my reader, I bought a brown cover for it too. The cover is suede leather. I recently bought a red cover for the reader that I bought for my wife. That cover is smooth leather.

I prefer smooth to suede (as it generally wears better)... So, what's up? Are all brown covers suede and all red ones smooth, or did they change the covers from suede to smooth in the two month period between the two purchases?

Interesting. I believe the ones they showed us in San Diego back in September were all suede, so they may indeed have changed them in the meantime. Maybe Bob Russell remembers better.... :shrug:

That's one of the reasons I've stuck with the stock case for general carrying around purposes: I didn't want to mess with the suede. If they've switched to smooth, I may have to reconsider. :nice:

I have the brown one and it is suede. It would be nice if it was smooth leather-- the suede doesn't age well.
