well this is really annoying.

i just got my story some weeks ago. yesterday i tried to downgrade it from 1.61 to 1.40. it booted normally, but when it came to the startup page, the page froze when the bar have almost finished (about 5mm still remain).

i tried to restart it for about 20times. each time it restarted but got stuck again when there were 5mm more. i tried to plug it into my computer but it only recharged.

can someone help me plz, i'm desperate.:(

i've been thinking 'bout booting my story by an sd card, but don't know how to do it. does anyone know?

actually i've checked that site. but you see, i know nothing about programming and fear i may make the matter worse.
anyway, today i've bring my story to the cs center to fix.
hope it works.

try this

download firmware 1.61 or later
and put EBOOK.HEX in sd card root (note must be named in capital letter, not ebook.hex)
put the sd card in the story and turn it on

downgrade on the story was bad, because i think the registry was not resetted and get corrupted, so don't try it

We should not have to be computer programmers to get a simple device to work. The world is going crazy!

oh my, i've done that, but forgot to put it in capital letter. then i wouldn't have to travel all the way to the cs center. (believe me, the traffic in Vietnam is crazy)

well i finally got my story back from the cs center and put my sd card with 'EBOOK.HEX' into it => restart => nothing happened => hopeless.

I have not found any easy steps to fixing your problems. *hint - there are some instructions on running arbitrary code in the samplecode.zip file. Be careful though, because if you don't know what you are doing, you'll probably make it worse.
