That's great. Sure. Great. Would you like some fresh poo to fling at me as well? (In case you haven't guessed, I'm one of that cast of millions who've not received the 2.5 update for my K2 US.) :D :D :D

My K2i update happened on the 14th. (So far I'm not hugely impressed.

* Collections? Pshaw. They're just more items on the list; having to click through six pages to get to my Sci-Fi folder isn't reducing the time it takes me to locate and open an book!
* Being able to tweet is cool, I guess. We'll see if I actually use it.
* The new http://kindle.amazon.com website is cute, but isn't really providing me with a service I need.
* I'm stuck with the dead authors until someone builds a new screensaver hack.)

I was surprised; I didn't expect it until late May.

Oh, no. I was thinking I could reduce my 23 pages of books to 10 collections, and therefore my home page would be 1 page. You mean the books all stay on there, in addition to being in the collection?

One updated last week...the other is still waiting.

(However, imho it's not worth getting hot and bothered over.)

No. All books that you have added to collections only display within their category when you have the sort option set to Collections. When you set the sort to anything else, you get all books PLUS all the collection names.

Check every AM but I am still at 2.3.3. Have tried to install several of the bin post with no luck. I'll say considering how long they have had to work on some organizational options i'll a little disappointed though I still think collections will be better than what we currently. have.

I reduced 69 pages down to 2, then again, I have a ton of freebies and fair amount of pokemon manga that caused those 69 pages.

Not unless you choose to view them that way. As I understand it, Collections is simply another category that appears at the top just as Personal Docs, Subscriptions and Books do now. Once you've assigned your books to collections that you have created, selecting "collections," (and not "books," or "all my items") will display collections only.

Nog Dog is correct, the collections is another way to sort the kindle. You can still coose to see all your books by title or author or recent first. But if you like collections, then that is the way you would leave it.
I have
"Kindle library" (all my books are in this collection and I read the book from this folder so it always stays on top
My Books - (this is the calibre catalog, but at the moment the catalog wont go into any collection so it is empty)
Modern quality fiction
Historical and ancient fiction
Light fiction
Holiday Reads
Non Fiction
Series
Classics
Mystery and Thriller
Quality General Fiction
Read
"Only when desperate"
Smut :chinscratch:
And then an author list (eg JD Robb etc)
(And because it wont go into any collection, the poor calibre catalog is last, unsorted on the last page)

You can download it "manually" here:

just arrived (here in Italy) and it is 2.3
As CeNoBiTa, I'd be interested to know what to do... I'm a bit fearful of the manual update.
To receive it by wifi have I to leave wifi on and put it in pause for a bit of time?

after having checked, I see 2 possible way to do it, but I dont know which one is right:
in home->settings->menu, I could
1) use "update your kindle" (but it's grayed out), or
2) use "sync & check for items"

which one - if any - I have to use?

Alexxxm-

1) To use this function you need to go to amazon and download the .bin file to your computer, connect your Kindle to your computer and move the .bin file into your Kindle root directory. Then the "update your kindle" option will be active.

2) The "sync & check for items" is for content only. That allows you to go out over whispernet and see if there are any media downloads available for your Kindle. Does not do updates.

I downloaded it and installed it on my K2 and I really wish I had the K1 file management system. It's taken me hours to sort a small part of my library into collections. Other than that it seems pretty zippy.
