A friend of mine carried my Kobo into a meeting for me...I don't know what buttons she pressed, but I have a screen displaying 'Video Poker' which is 'For Entertainment Purposes Only'

I've taken a photo of the screen, if anyone wants to see it. I've no idea what button combinations get to this...have fun trying...

To access this Easter Egg go to the help in the menu and when that opens go back to the menu and click help again. Then you can play video poker on your KOBO!

Cool. I think I read in a Borders press release somewhere that there'd be apps for the Kobo...

Neat, never would have thought to look for easter eggs on the Kobo.

HA HA!

I'm going down to chapters and putting all the demo models in POKER MODE!! That should baffle a few people.

It also works if you are on "Home" and you click menu and then click rapidly on the help button 3 times in a row. For that matter I believe it works the same if you click rapidly on the "about" option 3 times as well.

I was at indigo today and showed the employee attending the display how to get to the poker ap. I was speaking to someone and had left one the of the demos with the poker display left on. An older lady came along to look at the Kobos and happened to pick up the one I had left with poker display on. I wish I had a camera to capture her shocked expression.

Press the Home button.
Scroll to highlight Help.
Press the centre of the blue D-pad button.

Do not get an SDHC card - just SD - for storing up to 4GB of .pdf documents! Something I *really* like about the kobo is that SD card slot!

a 4GB SDHC card should also work. Anything over that is not gauranteed to work as we have not tested with it.

I've used an 8GB before out of convenience, but it did not have much stuff on there so I don't know the extent to which it will work.

Thanks. What's the diffrence, if you don't mind me asking? Also, if you own a kobo, would you know where the cheapest place to get either a sticker cover for the kobo or a fabric cover? I prefer the latter, but am planing on purchasing both as well.

Buy one right now, from physical stock in the store, otherwise you might end up with one with the new firmware ready-installed on it...

Just becasue YOU are not happy with the new firmware does not mean everyone is.

Besides, what is to say that when the Kobo performs it's initial install of the desktop application that it will not download the newest client at that time, and perform the upgrade.

You can keep dismissing the wizard if you so choose. But it will keep firing every once in a while (I believe every time you start the application).
