Hi,

I couldn't find this in the manual so I thought I'd ask here.

Is there a proper way to disconnect the Sony Reader from the USB port?

That is, do I unplug the cable from the Reader or unplug the USB cable from the USB port after exiting the Connect Desktop software?

Pardon if this is a stupid question, because the Sony Reader doesn't show up in the system tray as a connected device like my flash drive or DVD burner.

I've had bad luck with my iPod shuffle dying because of improper dismounting and I don't want the same thing to happen to the new Reader. My wife would kill me. :-)

Best,
tony

You can unplug it at any time if it's not transferring files, i.e. the status bar says just "USB connected".

Yeah, the documentation or the displays aren't very good on this. As long as your little status icon in the Connect software is not spinning, in other words no work is happening, you can just unplug it from either end.

What igorsk & LG said. If you're still afraid - close CONNECT software first.
