At a German press event held the 12th of April some more details about the WePad were revealed:

11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 multitouch display and 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU and run a custom version of Linux with a touch-friendly interface

* The tablet will support 1080p HD video playback
* HDMI output
* A 16GB, WiFi model will sell for 449 Euros
* A 32GB model with WiFi, 3G, GPS, and HD video playback will run 569 Euros

2 USB ports and a built-in SDHC card reader too! Very nice. The overall specs do look very good. It appears like this device could support Windows 7, I wonder if they will include the Windows drivers on CD like ASUS did on their Linux netbooks? This device looks like it is a contender for sure!

Main issue for me with it is the way they don't seem to want to let anyone actually use it with all the demos being preprogrammed so far, you can't even be sure that the touchscreen is even working yet. The larger screen size and resolution will make this one very appealing to a fair few people you would think.

Other sites seem to be reporting that the better model is 64gb rather than 32gb.

The screen size is good.

But, Atom? Perhaps this is why it needs a fan?

Also, I would have felt better with something like Android, because of app availability and OS upgrades.

But still, hopefully we'll see real-world reviews very soon.
