i've just downloaded a pdf file from the internet but unfortunately the font size appeared to be be very small and very light on sony reader .
so is there a software that enables me to to make the font size bigger and darker ( a pdf edit tool ) ?

That would be nice. I am also looking for such a tool (if it exists).

You can do that in bookdesigner.

The full version of Acrobat allows you to change the font and font size but it is a costly piece of software.

Or use a Mac. ;) Heck, you could email it to a webmail place like gmail, go into an Apple store, sign into your account and pop open the file and adjust the font size.

Exactly. Either in the Standard or the Pro version of Adobe Acrobat, you can edit PDFs almost as if it were a word processor (e.g. use the Touchup Text tool in the Advanced Editing toolbar).
Another app that allows you to edit PDF files is Adobe's Illustrator.
Problem: Neither of these programs are cheap.
Alternatives: Foxit PDF Editor, Infix from Iceni Technology (downloadable as a demo).
