This is huge! With a lot of tablets computers coming out to the market soon, having a Kindle App for them will make them a much better reading device than having to shoe horn some generic ebook reading app.

Since Amazon did not list specific platforms but use the generic term "Tablet" I'm suspect they plan to support the number of tablet devices including, Windows, Android, and iPad tablet devices.

The Windows 7 version is already supposed to include touch support, but perhaps there will be a tablet optimized Windows version too.

We have seen other indications of an Android version, see Dell Streak bundled with Kindle Store? (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76654)

Right the point I was making was the Kindle for PC does not have a touch friendly UI. Something that works with out a styles. I'm thinking the Kindle for Tables will have a different look and be fore finger friendly :)

Ah I missed that Dell post. It's nice to see Android is on Amazon's radar. Rumors are HP is also making a Android tablet device so there will be several big names making affordable WIFI enabled devices on the Android platform. Having the Kindle for these devices will really make those devices good ereader alternatives.
