I ordered yesterday when this message wasn't on their website. My estimated shipping time is still 10/25/2006. I hope it will not change to November.... :(

I'm not kicking myself for not immediately ordering when I first got the email on Tuesday. I placed my order today and its estimated ship date is all the way out to 12/04/06. /cry

I remember when the first HD Tivo DVR was released by DirecTV. I got myself on a perorder list in January and they where released in March. The first shipping day only 200 or so went out. The list was in the 1000s at that point. I got in on the 2nd shipment and was thrilled. Anyway, what happend then and I'm sure now is that they roll them out as they are manufactured. I suspect that they drastically underestimated demand if they are already out to December. Hopefully they can beef up the production.

I suppose that if they do show up at retailers before they can ship, you could always cancel the direct order. :grin:

This is why they did not start a big publicity push with ads and so on. There is no point in doing that until there is more stock than this word-of-mouth generated sales.

I think they did the right thing to price it way lower than an iliad at $349 instead of $700++.

Hmm. Checked tonight and instead of 12/04/06, the date was moved up to 11/02/06. Perhaps they will be ready to ship them a month sooner? I've been waiting for this for about 10 months, I'm DYING to get mine in.

Should I find it in Borders or perhaps new in box on Ebay for a non-ridiculous price, maybe I can cancel my order ;)

I was feeling blue when I saw that my estimated ship date is 10/25. (I ordered it early Wednesday morning.) But I guess the fact that it is popular, at least initially, is good news for the longevity of the product and for the probability that updated models will come out in the future.
