View Full Version : sony reader manual bugsbunny14 09-26-2006, 05:38 PM hi , i found the manual , here is the link http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=PRS500 Alexander Turcic 09-26-2006, 05:43 PM Great catch! NatCh 09-26-2006, 05:47 PM Nice one, bugsbunny14! There's a couple of pages at the back of the operation guide (pp 78-9) that talk about the GPL/LGPL, along with a link to files (http://www.sony.net/products/linux) that isn't active at the moment. The guide does list a lot of source files. I'd post the list, but it's apparently copy protected. :tongue3: I suppose I should have expected that. TadW 09-26-2006, 05:51 PM Damn, Nat, you read fast!! ;) Anyways, here is the list: Dear customers Thank you for purchasing this product. Included with this product is the following software which applies to GPL/LGPL. You may obtain, modify and redistribute the source codes of the software. bash fileutils findutils gcc glib glibc grep hardhatutils hostname mkcramfs mtd-utils mtools ncurses openssl pam procps psmisc sed shellutils sysutils sysvinit tar textutils time util-linux These source codes are available on the web site. Access the following web site to download. http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/ Note that Sony accepts no inquiries concerning the contents of these source codes. For details on GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE, refer to “gpl.txt” and “lgpl.txt” on the CD-ROM. ---- iRex could learn from this! (and they probably will) TadW 09-26-2006, 05:53 PM Another interesting link (still not active): By updating the Sony Reader’s firmware, you can ensure your Sony Reader has the latest features. The latest firmware updates can be performed from the update menu on CONNECT Reader from “Help” – “Check for Updates.” For details on updates, refer to the CONNECT Reader Help or the following website. http://www.sony.com/readersupport NatCh 09-26-2006, 06:06 PM Damn, Nat, you read fast!! ;)The good stuff's always at the back :) |
