Excellent! Slava 09-26-2006, 05:48 PM Sometimes Sony amazes me, first they don't mind users hacking their reader, then they allow Firefox. I'm afraid to think what happens next :) TadW 09-26-2006, 05:54 PM Sometimes Sony amazes me, first they don't mind users hacking their reader, then they allow Firefox. I'm afraid to think what happens next :) Next you'll wake up and discover that it was all just a dream! Slava 09-26-2006, 06:02 PM Tad, I'm taking screenshots to document all that :) Slava 09-26-2006, 06:06 PM (Not so many) Cheap eBooks $2-$3 http://ebooks.connect.com/specials/ebooks.html NatCh 09-26-2006, 06:07 PM Next you'll wake up and discover that it was all just a dream! Noooooooooo! Bob Russell 09-26-2006, 06:10 PM It might be interesting to compare some book prices with Fictionwise, eReader, mobiPocket, Amazon, etc. But remember that Sony doesn't determine the prices, the publishers do. doctorow 09-26-2006, 06:11 PM (Not so many) Cheap eBooks $2-$3 http://ebooks.connect.com/specials/ebooks.html Not really, heh. Needs some more to be officially dubbed iTunes for e-books. Alexander Turcic 09-26-2006, 06:14 PM But remember that Sony doesn't determine the prices, the publishers do. True. Someone did a price comparison (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6300) before when the store was still under development. I think only time will tell how much influence Sony has over publishers. It's a chicken and egg scenario. Bob Russell 09-26-2006, 06:14 PM If Sony Connect becomes as successful as iTunes, I think we'll all be dancing in the streets because e-book readers will be everywhere! vanker 10-02-2006, 05:07 PM How do you download the Connect Reader software? I've looked all over their website and cannot find the software for the life of me....I see prices listed, but no options to buy, and no links whatsoever to software. Does it just come with the reader? This makes no sense, as I could imagine some people want to actually purchase some titles before they recieve their reader.... NatCh 10-02-2006, 06:01 PM Yup, the Connect Software only only comes with the Reader, as far as I know. There's not much point in buying books 'til you have a Reader, as they need to be encoded for the device after it's registered to the account. Besides, the whole point of the Reader is to not read on the computer monitor. |
