The summer harvest is been surprisingly intense. It is not only that the librie has got tcp networking via the old phone ppp trick, but also the access to keyboard and display is best understood and an example of a minimal "reader" gcc application has been deployed jointly with some preliminar libraries. Most of these events have been anounced here and at the yahoogroup on the librie.

Also some yahoogroup members have heard rumours about a more open approach to development in the sony reader, so perhaps the lessons learnt here could be of some use in the future machine.

Those rumours have turned up a time or two around here, too. :happy2:

Sony is, in fact, putting together a dedicated developer program for the Sony Reader.

That's what I understood too. :happy2: I don't think they've said when they plan to release the SDK, unfortunately.

I suspect that while they want to do it, they're just too occupied with getting the Reader launched to decide when they want to aim to release an SDK.

Did you ever hear any more from them about beta-testing, Laurens?

I ask because I understood that they were long done with the Beta Testing by now....
