This is a follow-up to our earlier discussion (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7019) regarding the serial of the iLiad.

Your serial looks like this:
ER010000xxxx-24
AAAABBBBCCCC-DD

AAAA = always ER01: your iLiad model number
BBBB = always 0000
CCCC = hex number: your unique serial number
DD = always 24
Interesting is CCCC, which is not only your unique serial number, but also makes your MAC network address!

Your MAC address looks like this:
00:16:7C:00:xx:xx
AA:AA:AA:AA:CC:CC

AA:AA:AA:AA = always 00:16:7C:00
CC:CC = your unique serial number
Example:
If your unique serial number is EDC, your iLiad's serial number would be
ER0100000EDC-24

and your device's MAC address would be:
00:16:7C:00:0E:DC

Do you think the -24 means it was built with 2.4 software?

I have 0x0e44 = 3652. I had an order number <400. Assuming they started at 1 (or 0), that means they actually made / sold a lot more devices than what we were guessing.

I dont think the bulk/B2B orders are counted like the individual orders, so it would make sense not to be included in the total individual count.

Serial numbers should be unique among all delivered devices. Or I don't get your point :)
