View Full Version : Do we need iRex subcategories? (this is a poll)
Call me an optimist, but I am quite confident that next week there'll be a lot of new iRex owners on this forum ;) Hence, I wonder, is it already time to add some iRex subcategories here?
This is a poll. You can select any poll item you like; if you can think of an important category that is not listed, post it here.
Tscherno 07-07-2006, 01:35 PM Other category i would suggest: "iLiad compatible content"
oliverbogler 07-07-2006, 01:43 PM How about a tutorial from tribble on iLiad-based avatars? ;)
ElaHuguet 07-07-2006, 01:53 PM I'd have hardware, software and "other" or general issues (that don't fit into hard/soft). I wouldn't have too many, or it might end up being too much.
Hence, I wonder, is it already time to add some iRex subcategories here?
Considering that the software is not finished yet, all software categories seem a little premature?
The only categories that seem practical are 'iLiad bugs' and 'iLiad wants'. 'iLiad hacking' does not seem practical, though it is probably possible.
deadite66 07-07-2006, 02:28 PM iRex development subforum for us early adopters sounds good
CommanderROR 07-07-2006, 04:17 PM irex software bugs
tribble 07-07-2006, 05:53 PM - bugreports
- development
- software add-ons
- bugreports
- development
- software add-ons
-delivery date forecast and mourning
ROFL

LOL. Might be the only subforum we need :D
... and another avatar update. Not the one i hoped for though.
herve 07-08-2006, 05:17 AM I don't think we need to spread out the iLiad threads yet. For now we just need the mediation and shipping status threads!
When we will have 10+ threads a day, and being unable to track down, choosing which categories will become natural because we will just have to match the most recurring topics.
Riocaz 07-08-2006, 05:45 AM IMO I would rather the sub-catagories be created now.
I like Mobileread, and if they get in early it can become _the_ place for iLiad users to congragate. Otherwise someone else will get in and I will have yet another forum/mailing-list/newsgroup to subscribe to...
;-)
arivero 07-08-2006, 06:59 AM I think not yet. After all, you can move threads into categories when it becomes needed, ie when we get at least two or three threads for a category
LauretteBradley 07-09-2006, 02:46 PM I vote with Tscherno for an "iLiad compatible content" subcategory
Wow tough choice ;) I see, there're quite a few among us who think that we should add an iRex subsection or two... but isn't clear to me yet which ones are the favorites...
Going over your responses, I think "how-tos" and "bug-reports" seem good to start with. Agreed?
Alexander Turcic 07-15-2006, 07:46 AM I am absolutely with you guys if you need more order for future iRex discussions. Let me study this thread and think over it again to decide how we could expand this section.
FGFuzaxx 07-18-2006, 09:14 AM Hi Alex,
things get crowded.
;)
Greetings,
Frank
yes, i think now might be the right moment to add iRex "howtos", "hacking" and "photo gallery" subcategories.
Alexander Turcic 07-18-2006, 11:03 AM Tomorrow we decide about the details, but rest assured, we'll break this into subcategories.

You did, I love it. Thank you.
tribble 07-19-2006, 04:45 AM Yap, was already missing a post, when i saw the subcats :) Thanks alexander
Alexander Turcic 07-19-2006, 08:40 AM Thank you guys!
If you are missing something important, feel free to raise your voice. For instance, someone already contacted me and suggested a dedicated place to discuss formatting of e-book content (e.g. PDF) in particular for the iRex Reader. In this case, we would have three options: stick it to the new "Software Tips" category; stick it to the general "Formats and Conversion" category; or create another subcategory for it.
We always appreciate your suggestions.
