I have the prs-300. I bought a disc off ebay, probably not a smart move
I loaded the books into the library and transfered them onto the reader, and thats when the trouble started. They are in comic format, something I wasn't expecting, but they're way to small to read, pressing the text increase size isn't making them any bigger, so I've put it down to a bad experience, but :help: is this a problem with all discs off ebay? Is it worth buying discs of books from there?

:thanks: pea

If the font size is not increasing you likely have pdfs that were created as pictures.

Not sure if that will be the case with all discs from ebay.

What were you supposed to be buying when you purchased the disc? Were these supposed to be novels or comic books? If they were supposed to be novels then there are many other places these can be purchased or had for free.

If you provide further details we will be more than happy to help you in the right direction.

Hi, thank you for the reply :)
I think you're right about them being pdf's. I have only had the reader for a week so I have a lot to learn
I bought a disc of tin tin books () but hadn't realised they were in comic format, you live and learn I suppose

:thanks: pea

Could you point to another auction for the same disc? The 300 doesn't support "comic format," which is CBR/CBZ (why the hell not, I ask) so we need to know what kinds of books in what formats you are talking about.

BTW, "Ebay" isn't a publisher, Ebay is a collection of individuals or companies selling stuff. What you buy from one person on Ebay says absolutely noting whatsoever about what someone else offers.

As for buying discs of books off Ebay in general, though-- if it is in the public domain, you can download it for free on the internet, no need to buy a disc. If it is pirated books, on the other hand, you can download it for free on the internet, no need to buy a disc.

Because it said "comic books in ereader format" I thought it would be ok :o they are showing up on the reader like comics but are too small to read.
I think I need to start looking around on the internet and getting clued up and download them myself :2thumbsup

There is no other way to display hand-drawn text on hand-drawn pages other than as in image-- you have two choices to make the text larger:

1.) change the orientation to landscape and see half a page at a time.

2.) hold the reader closer to your face. I've read hundreds of comics on my Reader. Reading distance of around around 1 foot from my face.

I think I'll put it down to experience  I'll see what I ca find to download :2thumbsup

The auction you linked to clearly says that the files are PDFs. And with images, the PDF files will not rescale text--they are simply graphic images being displayed.
