I havent introduced myself properly :D

My name is eka.
i'm from jakarta, indonesia.

got interested in ePaper just recently (February...yeah...Sony Reader was what caught my attention).

I've been planning to own one ever since.
I considered Librie for a while, then decided to wait a little bit more for what seems to be a better ebook reader, hanlin v2.

Philips Readius' design got me hooked as well, but i wont be able to get one until 2007 :/ plus the resolution isnt very exciting.

Thats it for now.
Mobileread is a nice forum :)

cheers

Glad to have you here, and thanks for the intro!!!

I have a friend from Indonesia who is travelling back soon for a wedding, and another friend was there about a year ago on a visit. I had no idea until the last few years how large the population is there, and how significant the region is. I even think that the newly discovered "pristine" land with new species of animal was in Indonesia somewhere also, wasn't it? It's amazing and kind of embarrassing to learn how naive we are about the world in the US, and I'm afraid I'm just as guilty as most.

BTW, I think Sony Reader is getting quite a lot of people interested in e-book readers!! ;)

I've been to Indonesia for a few weeks, back when I was fifteen. Visited Jakarta and Bogor (to the south) for a few days before going to some of the other islands. (Sumatra, Sulawesi, Ambon, Bali.)

it seems like indonesians are everywhere around the world now :D
(probably thanks to the great big riot of 97 :( )

BobR: the condition in indonesia isnt what you can call healthy ^^; quite a lot of mass demonstrations lately. Right now, the people's representative council is more concerned to goal a stupid anti pornography and pornoaction law, rather than seriously dealing with corruption, starvation, etc (or maybe i should blame the media for exposing this too much)

Anyways, life goes on. I'm starting a business that i believe can help a lot of people.

Sony Reader got me interested, but i'm now inclined to buy hanlin v2 as my first ebook reader. It seems like the best combination of Sony Librie/Reader and iRex iLiad. I have an uncle in China, i hope he can help to get me one later hahaha

Laurens: wow, you've visited more parts of indonesia than i have lol
when was your last visit?

Well, I was just visiting as a tourist. (I'm of Dutch-Indonesian origin, though.) My first and so far only visit was in 1990, long time ago.
