Edit: Ok, just tried it (remotely) on my Macbook, works there too! kovidgoyal 10-02-2009, 12:45 PM Yeah I'm hoping all the crashing problems are finally fixed. Needs more testing with PDF files though. latexsalesman 10-02-2009, 05:30 PM All the crashing seems to be fixed!!! 6.16. Thanks Kovid!!!! I just imported 80pdf files while running an antivirus scan and had 0 crashes. The books were imported very quickly as well. Totally Awesome. Thanks, Jason I Want to be your LatexSalesMan!!!!! adbosch 10-03-2009, 05:41 AM 6.16 doesn't work under Vista? (it doesn't start up at all) capelord 10-03-2009, 05:51 AM when converting a a pdf file to mobi it hangs at 67% left it for 20 min and still sitting there itimpi 10-03-2009, 06:01 PM 6.16 doesn't work under Vista? (it doesn't start up at all) Works fine for me under Vista. GJN 10-04-2009, 07:39 AM Works nicely on a Mac under Snow Leopard. Crashes experienced with 6.15 are gone. Added several books to my calibre library and transferred several other books to my wife's Kindle without problems. Everything seems smooth, though this version (and several preceding ones) don't remember the subdirectory where downloaded books are stored -- just the parent directory. rogue_ronin 10-04-2009, 08:46 AM 0.6.16, on an hour-old fresh install of Jaunty (Ubuntu 9.04). Crashed out completely trying to download news (Honolulu Advertiser). Didn't even get the pop-up window with the error trace. Anything I can do, I will. m a r ps: it's been doing it with all news downloads since 6.14, and while I was still on Intrepid. A4- 10-04-2009, 01:14 PM 0.6.16 crashes (on XP) after 1-2 seconds, before the window even opened, tried a remove/install, no change in behavior, even removing the db wont help. :/ Reverted back to .12 because .14 gives errors on importing new files (drag 'n drop) (Having Sigil open during Calibre installation gives errors.) kovidgoyal 10-04-2009, 01:16 PM For people having trouble running it on windows: see http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ticket/3687 cvkemp 10-04-2009, 01:25 PM I am running it with Win7 32 bit and it is working great. Chuck cvkemp 10-04-2009, 01:27 PM I have converted about 150 books from pdf to mobi and epub and it has been working greate with Win 7 but this is a fresh install of windows as well as calibre Chuck |
