Hi, my name is Bill and I reside in Indiana. I found this site on a google search for ebook readers. For the last couple of months I've collected quite a few books in electronic format, mostly chemistry, biology and medicine. At the moment I'm readiond them on my desk top. I'm a biology pre-med major here at IU. I never thhought about it before but some sort of reader would be great for school work. All I can think about is the day when I wont have to lug around all those heavey book. I'd also like to create a carry along reference library (alot of the books I have on my computer are huge chem. and medical reference books). To be able to carry all that in a small package seems ideal. Many of the texts have color images...is there a reader that could handle that??? All my files are PDF, DJVU, or PDB.

Hi Bill, great you discovered this community. We are all a bunch of crazy technophiles, so don't expect objective answers. Still, you should keep a close eye on the Sony Reader and perhaps also the iRex Iliad, both of which received a lot of coverage here at Mobileread recently.

Good to have your company, Bill. Before making a decision, you'd do well to check out the *Which One Should I Buy?* thread here. It seems to me that you might need something that can handle technical and specialist books with graphics and tables and what have you. Not all do that job well. Best of luck. Neil
