This drama/thriller is a story about the oil industry, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, terrorism, and the CIA. The screenplay, written by director Stephen Gaghan, was based on the book See No Evil (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/140004684X/104-7121791-9287155?v=glance&n=283155) by Robert Baer, a former CIA field officer.
