I'd like to take some JPEG comics I have lying around here and turn them into a PDF for easier reading on my Jetbook. Can this be done? Can this be done easily? I've never created a PDF before so I'm just wondering if this is feasible. Thanks.

Get a PDF printer driver like CutePDF (http://cutepdf.com/) and you'll be good to go. :)

Zip em up, rename the file to cbz and calibre 0.6 will create a custom PDF for you

Do I need the newest version (beta) of Calibre? Because I'm using 5.14 right now and I only see the options to convert to LRF, EPUB or MOBI

Will calibre do a more thorough job of optimizing the images (for resolution, size, and contrast) than manga2pdf (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12790&highlight=manga2pdf)?

Try it and see, I've never used manga2pdf, so I can't comment
