I have a Kindle DX which I am happily using outside of US, uploading books via USB. I was thinking about trying to enable the CDMA card, our network provider here has a CDMA network with EVDO Data.
So I thought with a valid card on the network and a valid data account which I pay for this could be possible?

I found the Kindle DX uses the Novotel E725 Mini PCIe card E727NV WN2 (http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/kindle-dx/kindle-dx-images/kindle-dx-wireless-card-exposed-1.jpg).
If I replace that card with one of these Sierra Wireless MC5725 Mini PCIe (http://www.sierrawireless.com/product/mc5725.aspx)cards. I have one of these, all I need to do is activate it against my data account.

I would then need to find what drivers to use? And then modify the connection scripts to connect via my local provider using their data dialup strings? Have these been located?

Would this be feasible? Note this is not using the Whispernet service at all. I would be paying for the local data account.

the issue would be getting ARM drivers for the card. the second issue is the browser is hard coded to go through amazon's proxy servers.
