Kindle DX Does Not Turn On

My Kindle DX arrived three weeks ago and worked fine until today. When I tried to turn it on, the screen would not turn on. It only shows gray areas. The battery was 3/4 charged when it was last used and the wireless was turned off. The screen saver will not go on either. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Have you tried contacting the Kindle Support site?

Go here, click on "contact us' (right hand side of page) sign into your account.

You can then enter your phone number, and they will call you back very quickly, and walk you thru some steps.

If its defective, you will get a new one.

In the meantime I'd plug it in and fully charge it - and try to turn it off (hold button over for 30 seconds or so) and back on - see if you can "jump start" it. I've read some posts that the DX is SLOW to recover - but will if given time. Worth a try - if they don't have a replacement one to send you right away.
