I guess ebooks are really taking over :-)

Now if only the Kindle DX can do something useful with these, by actually supporting basic PDF functions, there might be some happy students.

University of Phoenix, despite the negative image, has been distributing etext-books to its students for at least 5 years now. Actual name-brand texts that are used in schools all over the U.S., not just these ad-interrupted versions from publishers I've never heard of.

The difference is that these texts had to be read on a computer monitor (boo!) and now we're hopefully getting to the point where they can be read on an ereader. But both University of Phoenix and this BookBoon only seem to offer secured pdf's, so neither can be read on the Kindle (if my understanding of the Kindle DX is correct).

No ePubs? Wow... that's crazy!

I tried one on the Kindle DX, and you can read it fine, except that without zoom, the font is a bit too small (the margins are wide.)
