View Full Version : Help Slayda find his EZ Reader.....
desertgrandma 05-26-2009, 11:03 PM Slayda has lost his EZ Reader.
http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47743
Lets all help him find it. Look under your couch, behind the bed, in the bathroom, even under the rugs. Don't forget the oven!
Look outside in your pool, bushes, garage.
Don't forget to check your cars!
Lets find Slayda's EZ Reader!!
Post to let us know you care and you've looked....:)
mklynds 05-26-2009, 11:27 PM Hey that's great news. No not the Slayda loosing his EZ Reader the part about me having a pool. Saweet. Oh and i checked under my couch cushions to no avail. It seems you did not lose it at my house.
Sweetpea 05-27-2009, 01:22 AM I checked the cat litter, it wasn't there either... It wasn't under my pillow, or in the bathroom. I'll keep looking!
montsnmags 05-27-2009, 01:59 AM I stole it and I'm loading it up with lurid tales written by hallucinating gibbons. Then I'll interfenestrate, put it back on Slayda's bedside, defenestrate, and leave nothing but a funky brume and the nails-on-blackboard fading of inappropriate laughter. And you lot...you're next...
AAAAAAHAha[coughcough]hahickhaha[burp]snickerteeheebWAHAHAHAHARGH!!![snork]...Giggle.

Can you return it to Slayda, please?
montsnmags 05-27-2009, 02:20 AM Can you return it to Slayda, please?
Sure...if you'll just drink what's in this glass with the twirly-straw...it's okay, don't listen to DGMa...it'll make everything allllll better...

Did you drink it?
phenomshel 05-27-2009, 03:03 AM Looked under the head of the bed, no luck. That's where mine would be - it would have slipped out of my hands when I fell asleep reading.
montsnmags 05-27-2009, 03:52 AM ...
Did you drink it?
Drink it? I made it!
Cheers,
Your friendly MR Barman
Peverel 05-27-2009, 05:06 AM OK I checked that place in the washer where all the lint gets stuck along with odd bits of change - no luck - will look behind the cat next
zelda_pinwheel 05-27-2009, 05:11 AM usually when i can't find things they're under the cat so i checked there first (and second, since i have two cats), no joy. i checked my shoes too because one of the cats is a bit of a kleptomane and likes to hide things in there, i don't think a reader would fit but you never know, but they were empty. i checked around the living room just in case someone set it down and forgot but i didn't see it... i'll keep looking though ! i hope you find it soon. i'd be really sad if i lost mine. :(

Did you also check to see if it had been hiding the electricity from your computer there as well?

hm, good point. i'll ask her, the little sneak. right now i'm trying to find where you can buy a ups in france. also what the hell that is called in french.
montsnmags 05-27-2009, 05:50 AM ... right now i'm trying to find where you can buy a ups in france...
Just go to the store and find where there keep the downs, then look in the opposite direction.
Cheers,

:groan: !!
montsnmags 05-27-2009, 06:30 AM :groan: !!
So, what you're saying is, you want to buy a battery-backup from the Montsnmags House of Humour - good choice, as it has its ups and downs.
Cheers,
Marc
slayda 05-27-2009, 08:29 AM Maybe it will be like my lost Prius key (and replacing it will cost about the same). After I had searched "everywhere" and knew it was thoroughly lost, I had a new key made (for $225). A few days later as I was putting on my shoes, there was something in the right shoe. You guessed it, it was the Prius key. So if I buy another EZ Reader, my old one will turn up. (BTW I already checked all my shoes.) :o
I wonder if RobertB will give me a discount on a new one.

that's usually how it works when i lose something. "the fastest way to find whatever you lost, is to replace it."
i hope you find it before you replace it though... it's a lot bigger than a key, you'd think it would be harder to lose...
slayda 05-27-2009, 08:38 AM Maybe if I buy a new one the old one will appear. That's what happened with my Prius key. After searching "everywhere" and realizing it was thoroughly lost, I had a new one made (for $225 ). A few days later while putting on my shoes, I found the key in the right shoe.(BTW I already checked all my shoes for my EZ Reader. It's not there either.)
I wonder if RobertB will give me a discount on a new one.
Anyway, thanks for looking.
:iloveyou:
P.S. I really need an alarm on my reader so I can find it. Senior moments suck! And I hear it just gets worse.

Thanks, montsnmags. Those tales sound interesting. :thanks:
P.S. Do gibbons have tails? :D If you give them to me, how will they hold on?
jinlo 05-27-2009, 08:51 AM I checked near the moss-covered three-handled family grezunda. It wasn't there. I marked that spot X357J.
I bet the goldfish stole it.
pshrynk 05-27-2009, 08:58 AM I looked in my workshop behind the router case. That's usually where the marking pencils end up. I had also not slipped down under the cushions and zillion pillows on the couch, but I did find the cable remote. It is also not in the back of the top drawer of my desk at work, but there were a bunch of appointment slips that I did not keep.

I do what I can to bring underexposed cultures to broad minds. I'm a Ninja Critic, hurling literary stars at your brain. Also, I'm possibly deluded, though, how can one tell?
P.S. Do gibbons have tails? :D
Stick a million gibbons for a million millennia in front of a million Moleskins with a million Montblancs mashed into their masterful manus, and, Oh!, such tails they could tell. I suggest monkeys may feature often in the antagonistic roles, and that they may make use of homonyms as weapons. ;)
If you give them to me, how will they hold on?
It's okay - they like soft rock and easy-listening, and can hold for hours.
Cheers,
Marc

Excellent directions . . . 29850
Lady Blue 05-27-2009, 09:45 AM I've searched for it in my spousal unit's truck. That's where we found the TV remote a few years ago after hours of hunting all over the house for it, and nasty accusations being tossed around of someone stealing it from him.
But alas, no EZ Reader there. Shame too. Aside from maybe the chimney and the wood pile, it seemed like the most logical place to me.
Has anyone checked the bottom of the birdcage? That's where a lot of reading material ends up.
I'll search the garage next (oh my.)
GeoffC 05-27-2009, 09:59 AM I've search high,
and I've searched low.
It wasn't under the guzunder,
nor under the chimney pot.
I've had a look in the garden,
And over by the den.
It's not in the woods,
nor in the hay barn.
You've looked in your prius,
and I've had a look in mine.
(I found some well-chewed gum)
I've had a shifty in the fields,
and looked beneath badgoodDeb's shields.
But it's no-where to be found.
Have you tried the thingymegig,
or under the whatsit?
If not there you'll have to find
a book on paper - oh - that's where you've left it...
?
connected to your PC,
or on the wooden bookcase shelf,
fifth from the bottom and 8 books from the right......
pshrynk 05-27-2009, 10:04 AM How about the freezer? I'm not home right now, but that's always a good place for geezers I mean, chronologially advantaged persons to look for things they lose.

good idea. i've just checked mine (you never know), but it wasn't there.

Is that anything like wanting a baby but not being able to have one so you adopt and as soon as its final you find out your pregnant?
Have you tried that?
If it was me, I"D give you a discount.........BTW, you do have your books backed up, right?
And please, dear slayda, this was NOT a senior moment. Plenty of those dang young whippersnappers lose theirs, too! :)

krisk 05-28-2009, 02:01 PM as I am working on my third move in less than 3 months *sigh* it could be in any number of boxes. I've found the toothbrush and deoderant, and looked in the dirty laundry bag, no luck.

Slowly with short words, and possibly a chart.

Just show him where you keep it when you sleep - that should distract him.
BTW it's not in the fridge. :chinscratch:
I wonder if the dog ate it (she takes our shoes outside but has never eaten them) or maybe my wife gave it away to make me pay more attention to her.

And no I'm not pregnant even though losing my reader makes me feel like I've been s****ed. :o

still not turned up then ? it's probably the dog. he sounds like the most likely suspect (in general, i blame everything that goes wrong around here on the cats. if you don't have a cat handy, i am sure that a dog will do admirably as a replacement suspected guilty party). have you noticed any fresh holes in the yard ? any confusing suprise visits from strangers mentioning "the craigslist ad" ? does your dog seem to have more money than usually ?
then again... if your wife was jealous of it, all bets are off.

Dogs aren't usually as guilty as cats & luckily I do have other readers. It's just that my EZ Reader was my favorite. Maybe my next one should be hot pink. or I could tie a big balloon to it or something. And no it hasn't turned up. Do you think it ran away with a pbook?
Peverel 05-28-2009, 05:05 PM Its not by the pot plants in a camouflage case? Just a thought, cause if it was in a camouflage case it would be tough to see by the plants

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single ez reader
in possession of a good library, must be in want of some good paper" ?
maybe you should put a bell on your next one.
edit : or get it a girlfriend. :D

Nope. Sorry.

(Incidentally, I think it's inappropriate to call your husband a "bosom". Just because you didn't say "tit", doesn't make it any more right).
Cheers,

LazyScot 05-29-2009, 07:21 AM I checked with several new forest ponies on the way into work today, and they didn't have it.
Perhaps you should keep an eye on some of the Springwatch Webcams (http://www.bbc.co.uk/springwatch/webcams/)to see if any birds have bporrowed it.
krisk 05-29-2009, 12:32 PM is it really still missing?
Lady Blue 05-29-2009, 12:47 PM I'm not sure I know what an EZ Reader looks like, but I found this in my linen closet. Is this what you've been looking for?

Lady Blue 05-29-2009, 01:28 PM Is it found ? or still lost .....
Apparently, it once was lost, but now it's . . .
still lost.
GeoffC 05-29-2009, 01:31 PM still ?
Lady Blue 05-29-2009, 01:53 PM still ?
Apparently so. No one's said anything to the contrary.
I know I've checked with everyone and everywhere I can think of . . .
the grocery store
the school crossing guard
the doughnut shop
the local firehouse
the church pews
the top of the 100' flagpole at the Nissan Dealership
the sandbox at the playground
Bass Pro Shop
the Library stacks
my laundry hamper
my neighbor's boat
baggage claim at the airport
unclaimed freight at Amtrack
ticket window at the bus staion
the doorman at the Hyatt Regency
the horse stalls at the rodeo
the busboy at Cracker Barrel
. . . and the guy in the Hummer stopped next to me at the red light
Have I missed somewhere?
slayda 05-29-2009, 03:37 PM Apparently we've all missed somewhere since it's still missing. Maybe I shoul watch that TV sho called lost and it'll be there. Only problem is "Where is there?"

don't bid too high, you know if you win it, the day after your hanlin comes in the post your ez reader will turn up somewhere blindingly obvious... (but don't resell the hanlin, the ez reader will just disappear again as soon as you do...)
Heh Heh Heh..........which auction was that again?? :D

shouldn't have said anything around this bunch ! :p

I did check the garden under the courgette plants, but it wasn't there (keeping in mind the slugs and snails are happily eating their way through the garden...hope they didn't eat it).

I wouldn't mind so much if they were only in the tree. They're all over the sodding place. Walking barefoot in wet grass that's longer than about 2mm round here is hazardous... On the plus side, we don't have slugs.
Curly 05-29-2009, 06:35 PM Very hazardous! And of course snails crunch when you step on one.

Saddle bags? tack room? Feed bags? Behind the hay bales? Inside a boot? between saddle blankets?
Just trying to help:) Hope you find it. I'll send you more virtual chocolates and hugs plus I'll cross my fingers while chanting.. I believe in Miracles....
