I've downloaded an eBook in .lrf format and have found several minor errors. How should I report these, or is there an easy way for me to make corrections?

WDE. zelda_pinwheel 05-06-2009, 12:09 PM did you download the book from mobileread ? if yes, you could send a pm to the book creator or post a message in the book thread. i don't think you can easily correct and lrf file without having the sourcefile. Yes, I downloaded it from MR. It is the current book under review in the "Book and a Movie and Chowda" thread. With all of the different pagination/size choices, what would be the best way to report such errors? The originator may not have a PRS-XXX to view it on, although they may have access to the desktop version. eg. On page 5, in medium font, the word "for" should be "from". (This is just a hypothetical error. Would this be sufficient enough information to report to the originator?) WDE. Jellby 05-06-2009, 01:00 PM eg. I would provide more context, as in: In chapter 5: "they hid for their parents" should be "they hid from their parents". There a lot of small chapters in this book and this would be a good way to report any errors. WDE. Jellby 05-06-2009, 01:10 PM OK, thanks. There a lot of small chapters in this book and this would be an good way to report any errors. Note that the book creator should have the sources, and it would be quite easy for him/her to just search the text to find any sentence you provide, so giving the exact location of the typo is not as important as giving enough context. |
