Is there a plan to develop a PRS-505 version of Open Ink Pot? I see it listed in the wiki but it looks like it is not really actively being worked on.
Thanks,

like software on smart phone, such as alarm, calandar, etc. Can PRS support embedded software? BTW: the PRS I ordered haven't arrived, so my questions may be naive.

You can download source code from SONY.
Most ebooks readers use embedded Linux-based and some WindowsCE
for Linux. You need to find toolschain for CPU (most ARM)
