I realize that the url to Reuters Mobile Edition is no longer working, so I decided to make my alternative solution to it.

Enclosed is a Reuters.pdb sample file, a Reuters.htm with its folder which serves as a Homepages to contain all the URLs to various Isilo-friendly Reuters News PDA version, and a Reuters.ixl with specific configuration that allow the generated .pdb file to exclude all other rubbish that are non-Reuter news related eg. ads.

However 2 custom setup is still needed. First you will need to point the "Source" to where you stored the Reuters.htm eg. c:/Isilo/Reuter.htm. You will also need to configue your own destination on where you would like the generated PDB to be stored in eg. C:/Isilo

Enjoy:D

Just realize the size of the sample is too big to be uploaded into the forum (176KB). So won't be putting it up. Please try it yourself.

Sorry about that. I increased the upload limit to 200Kb now.

Trucido,

I love the idea of parsing an offline index file linking to online html pages!

I'd love to see a screenshot of this to see if it's worth the trouble. I get MOST of Reuters through Yahoo but it is missing a few things.

Basically Trucido's post is Reuters parsed from Yahoo.

Thanks:D The setting should be able to cover everything and excluding all unwanted links ie. Yahoo! Home, only possible with the latest version of IsiloX:D

To answer the question of some pages missing, it does occur when your ISP cached some of the pages in their internal server. You may need to copy and paste the link in my .ixl file and force-refresh it in your broswer to get your ISP download the most updated news to your browser.

Just a question here.

I used the htm doc included in the zip and it screwed up my browser so i just get the Reuters Yahoo news instead of getting the AP stuff also.

Any idea so i can have the AP stuff along with the Reuters.

I also cannot get it in Isilo either.

I really want to have both of these if i can.

Any help is appreciated.

Peace,

David

thanks for the response but it appears there is a cookie issue that is keeping me from getting Yahoo AP news.

If anyone could help,it would be appreciated.

Peace,

David

Hi,

Alex, enabling the cookies on both didnot do the trick.

What i did was take htm. doc within the Reuters htm.+ixl zip. and opened it within IE and it apears to have my browser permanently pointed towards the Reuters mobile content and not able to get the AP stuff.

Have tried different things but have not been successful.

I did set up a channel for Ap that i really like that i will post in new links section.

It may be a little big for some people but works great for me.

If you have any more thoughts on how to get this straight i would appreciate the help.

Peace,

David
