Based on the information here, I tracked down Book Designer 4.0. After a very lengthy (!!) WinXP SP3 installation, the process seems to conlcude and it deposits three icons on my desktop, labeled: Book Designer 4.0, Book Browser 4.0 and File Convertor 4.0. When I click on any one of the three icons, a process begins which looks suspiciously like the lengthy installation process that placed them there in the first place, with similar windows screens mentioning "gathering information", etc.

Is this correct behaviour, or has something gone wrong with my installation?

Something's gone wrong. It should just open the main BD window.

You really should be using BD 5, by the way, not 4!
