The clock on my Kindle2 appears not to be working. I know this because the Home screen appears out of order (I have set it to 'Most Recent First'). When I connect via USB and look at the files, the dates associated with the files I open are all 'January 1, 1980'.

Any idea how to check and set the clock?

P.S. I am in Tokyo right now and haven't been able to connect via wireless since Sunday - could this be causing the problem?

Yes. Unfortunately, there is no UI available to set your own time. Normally, you will just turn on wireless and let the device go seeks out what the time is.

From my experience, if wireless on the Kindle 2 is off for more than a day, the Kindle 2 stops timestamping files, thus resulting in them going to the end of the Most Recent list if you access them rather than the beginning. I have no idea *why* it does this, as the clock still seems to show the correct time. Turning whispernet back on for a while and then off again corrects the problem.

How do you find the clock on the Kindle 2? I haven't been able to check the time; alt-T doesn't seem to work anymore.

Just press the Menu button, the time is at the top, along with the remaining free space.

You can also type @time into the search box.

I've been out of the country for the last 5 weeks. There is no EVDO Whispernet here. I cannot set the time.
