View Full Version : Editing Kindle (.prc) metadata on a Mac GJN 03-01-2009, 11:23 AM Hi folks! I'm a new Kindle owner who's somewhat frustrated because most of my downloaded .prc files do not display an author name. Yes and no. The metadata edits are stored in the database. But, if you do a send-to-device or convert the book the metadata in the copy is modified to match the metadata in the database. (I don't know if this happens if you do a save-to-disk.) And it is written to copies of the original file GJN 03-06-2009, 10:42 AM Calibre is a beautiful system and works very nicely on editing metadata in .PRC and .MOBI file but even though I alter metadata successfully in calibre for .AZW files, after I send to device I'm left with the old metadata on the Kindle. This is on files I've purchased from Amazon. Perhaps on those the metadata are stored elsewhere with DRM information. kovidgoyal 03-06-2009, 11:05 AM calibre does not edit metadata on DRMed files.
