I'm so glad to see the site is fixed! Those are absolutely gorgeous. I may have to re-think my decision for an M-Edge as the Hokusai Wave is calling to me.

I would pre-order this second, but I'm still waiting for the "Roof of Heaven" cover to be made available as a Kindle cover. As of right now it's only available as a Large Journal cover, but Oberon has stated that they will be making it available as a Kindle cover.

I have a "Tree of Life" cover for my K1, if you've never seen one in person, no photo could ever do it justice! It is beautiful, as are all the Oberon covers.

That photo doesn't show it, but the design wraps all the way around the cover.

My Kindle 1 had the Sky Dragon cover and since I sold it with the cover so I can get the Kindle 2, I can not get the Sky Dragon again (it would be to painful:p). I plan to stick to red family though, I have pre-ordered the red Sun!:D The Sun is also a wraparound cover!

Thanks nelamvr6, I've seen it. What I really want to see is a picture of the back with the cover close. It does not seem to be separated 50/50 front/back, it looks like 75% of the Sun is in the front! I've been begging the people that has the Sun for the K1 to post a back picture.

According to the link, the "Roof of Heaven" will be available next week for pre-order on Kindle 2. I imagine it would be available to order for Kindle 1 as well.

If you go to www.kindleboards.com, there are lots of pictures of them.

I don't think they are "soft" leather....they couldn't be with all that embossing. They might be a little 'stiff'.

The covers are fairly stiff, but you can fold it all the way back with no effort at all.

They don't have a Kindle 2 yet, the pictures are of the currently available Kindle 1 designs. They won't have their Kindle 2 until late February.

It is a thicker leather, comfortable to hold, but not a soft glove-like leather.

Wow, the Roof of Heaven is amazing.

I haven't found a cover yet that I've been really inspired to buy. But the Roof of Heaven is a possibility - my favorite that I've seen so far. Although, and I know this is an unpopular opinion, I kind of love my little cheapo case that came with my Kindle. It's the strap, I think, but it just feels like a journal to me.

Did you send them an email? They said if they got enough interest (paraphrasing) they would consider it.

I wasn't sure how I'd like the Oberons in person, mostly whether I felt the pebbled texture was going to be soft enough, and if I found them to be as beautiful in person as in the pics. Fortunately, one of the local Paradise Pens stores has the journal covers, so I went to go see them today. While they didn't have the cover I'm considering, I really liked the way they feel in the hand. I can easily see myself holding one for hours at a time.

I think the Wave is in my future!

Absolutely! I have an Oberon cover {Sky Dragon} on K1 and it protects very will. Actually, last night, K1 got knocked off the coffee table by an adolescent boy still getting used to his height, and not only is it still working well, but also there isn't a scratch on it .

i bought the "Bold Celtic Knot" K2 case... heck, if I'm going to spend $359 on a K2, what's another $75.... plus, to ease the pain of my purchase, I bought my wife a Asus netbook on Amazon

Have you tried strangedog.com? If you like his style case that is. I know he has done some southwestern style cases and if he has time he would probably work with you to pick out fabric.

I was waiting to get the Roof of Heaven in saddle, and now it is just in purple. I called Oberon yesterday and they told me they were going to be posting a choice of both colors for this Kindle 2 cover either last night or today. It isn't showing yet. Has anyone heard anything from Oberon about getting Roof of Heaven in saddle besides me?

When I first got it, it was stiff, and it made pressing the right next page button and the left previous page button difficult. However, I use it every day, with the cover folded back, and I can say it is just perfect. It is stiff enough for the clip on book light, and to protect the kindle when I dropped it on the train platform, and it bounced! But it bends back and is very comfortable. I don't know what it will be like with the slimmer kindle 2, but I absolutely love mine. Debra

They have a koko journal cover! You should ask if they can do it as a Kindle!

I hope they use the slots, eventually if not initially. I'm not fond of the corner strap look. It's hard to believe I'm considering a $75 cover, but these are gorgeous.

Oberon Designs has decided that they will not have the new hinge attachments. For a couple of reasons like cost and because there is no attachment on the right hand side. (I think I gleaned the correct information from the KindleBoards thread.)

Not sure if they are going to have the Velcro as well. Maybe.

That's a shame and I also think a bit of a cop-out. Kindle2 provides a blind/solid connection method for covers and they eschew it. Heck, the customer are going to pay for the extra cost.

Agree pilotbob. The Kindle 2 provides a hinge system, why wouldn't Oberon use it. I think they're missing out here.

These are flat out beautiful. I have a journal that looks similar to the dragon design there and I love it. Wish I had an extra $75 right now to order one of those, they're very nice!

Wow, these covers are amazing! I could easily see myself spending $75 on a case that looks as good as these do.

The lack of a hinge option is disappointing. I'm hoping to get a Kindle 2 in the next month or so, and I wanted one of these cases because the designs are gorgeous and the leather seems nice and sturdy. But I really don't like the look of the corners. I'm also a knitter, which means that velcro is practically banned from my house because of it's sneaky tendency to ambush things that I spent many, many hours making.

I'll probably just get the Amazon case to start out with. Maybe they'll change their minds and decide to offer hinged cases later. :(

If they do start making 505 covers, would they leave out the hinges as well?

Maybe it is not economical for such a small company to buy these parts? A company like M-Edge can probably buy enough to get a really good price on them.

I'm glad you like Kai. I have one for my Kindle 1 with leather corners and it is incredibly secure. I held it over my bed and shook it vigorously and the Kindle stayed put.

I can't find a version of these with the Kindle2 attachment points. Also I would love to know how thick this makes the Kindle2. The one concern I have with a cover is how much thicker it makes the whole package. One of the things I love about the 2 over my old e-reader, iRex Iliad, is how much thinner the Kindle 2 is.

Oberon has decided not to offer the clips. They didn't feel they were a good, long-term option, or that they would compliment the functionality of their covers.
