Hey guys has any one tried to open Cyrillic books on Kindle? Dose it support with latest update or dose Kindle2 support it?

Cyrillic is not supported in the normal Kindle font. I've heard that Topaz-format files can display Cyrillic, but no one but Amazon and a few publishers seem to have access to the software to create a Topaz file.

The encoding supports UTF-8, but the font has no Cyrillic characters to display it, unfortunately. This is for both K1 and K2.

You may wish to consider a BeBook or CyBook - both of those can display Cyrillic without difficulty.

Not so simple about Cyrliic. Go to amazon.com and search for "kindle cyrlllic". You'll get dozens of hits on books from Webster's Ukrainian Thesaurus Edition (Kindle Edition). In each book annotation word Ukrainian appears as Ukrainian (Cyrillic Script).
These books are in English but apparenly some (internal? embedded into book?) script is used to display Ukrainian characters that are actually a superset on Cyrillic. Does it mean that even Kindle (not 2) can somehow display Cyrillic?
Edit: just found this Wiki article http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/AZW#Topaz. Looks as these Webster's books are in Topaz... Amazon should put Topaz converter in public domain.
