Wow... four kids! Don't know how you survived! ;)
Shackbase 04-17-2005, 09:50 AM Bobr.. ehrm. sHackbase.. ;) and thank you!
It's not over yet - oldest 2 (daughters) are 6 and 14 - they are just now starting to become problems...
The youngest two, 1 and 2 - boys... have been problems from day one.. :)

Shackbase 04-17-2005, 09:53 AM Morpheus,
The 22nd infantry is now closed down - no longer needed to protect the west against the evil Russian empire... here's some info about us though; http://www.members.tripod.com/arcticranger/ if you are interested. :)

cbarnett 04-17-2005, 07:06 PM Hi Shackbase, welcome to MR! I know kids are a hand full, I have 3 of my own (8 year old girl and twin 5 year old boys....)
Craig.
Shackbase 04-17-2005, 09:59 PM Craig,
The girl I'm sure is self sufficient, twin boys though - sounds busy! :)
--Tone
cbarnett 04-17-2005, 11:02 PM Oh no, she's a princess, believe me! :)
The boys are a bit of a handful. You don't realise just how different they are to girls until you have both. There really is something hardwired there :)
Oh, and they both have type 1/juvenile diabetes, which complicates things a bit.
Even so, each one is a joy, and I love them to death. Having said that, aftern the twins were born, we (me and the wife I mean) made sure we couldn't repeat that performance, if you know what I mean... :p
Craig.
Craig.
Shackbase 04-18-2005, 11:57 PM yeah the wife and I did the same - abstinense seem to work great for HER. :)
sorry to hear about your boys diabetes, but like you said, every day is a joy with the kids.. my youngest Brody is about 16 months now and seriously, I cannot remember how life was before him... and he is a red head like his mother, thinking there will be a lot of hair coloring or crew cuts when he grows up... but that won't curb his... fiery attitude... takes that after his mother if you ask me.
Just going to have to ask... your avatar... i thought it was you, but your clearly older than that and the kid reminds me of someone.. what gives?

cbarnett 04-20-2005, 11:05 PM :) Actually, it's a never winter nights character I picked up somewhere ages ago, which looks a little like me if you squint really, really hard and push your knuckles into your eyes. Oh, and I liked the look of it... I'm 37, so I'm a bit older than the avatar... lol
Craig.
Kids are the best contraceptive in the world....
Shackbase 04-21-2005, 11:09 PM i like that squint really hard and push your knuckles into your eyes.. a lot of stars Im sure.. ;)
and yeah - kids are great contraceptives... or detterents (sic?) for future... kids...

Techick 04-27-2005, 06:33 AM Hey Tony, I lived in Crystal Lake in 1997 and 1998....small world:)
Shackbase 04-27-2005, 08:03 AM atleast you moved away - you're the brighter of us two.. :)
Viginia.. Navy man?
--Tone
Colin Dunstan 04-27-2005, 08:23 AM Viginia.. Navy man?
Or rather: Navy woman (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3931)? ;)
Techick 04-27-2005, 08:54 AM ROFL @ Morpheus:) Yep I is a chickie:)
No I am not in the Navy, nor was my hubbie (now ex..ok in another couple weeks "ex"). He just moved us a lot..in fact so did my parents...from 16 to 33 yrs old I have moved every 3-14 months, I am an expert at it now!:D
Techick 04-27-2005, 08:54 AM BTW, I LOVED IL, hope to move back out west sometime soon...people here are SO wound around the axle:(
Shackbase 04-27-2005, 09:18 AM doh - sorry.. WOMAN... thanks morpheus...
Illinois.. sucks btw... speaking from someone that has lived in a few different countries.. I am convinced god was bored one day and spun the globe around and whereever his finger landed would be hell on earth... incidentally... just 3 blocks away from my house.. :(
--Tone
Techick 05-04-2005, 08:20 AM lol, sorry about that Shackbase!:(
Why do you hate it so much?
Shackbase 05-04-2005, 08:26 AM its not so much that I hate it - it's more .... for a city of this size there's only 4 things you can do, go to the movies, go bowling, go to a bar or go to church...
There's not even any decent shopping malls or anything, not to say that we don't have any but seriouslly.. you want to do something more substantial, you're forced to drive into Chicago 80 miles away.
--Tone
Techick 05-04-2005, 10:44 AM lol, that's pretty bad when a GUY is complaining about the shopping! JK:)
There's that one good mall in like Eldin or something, just past Crystal Lake on the way to Chicago from where you are. I used to go there when I needed a shopping fix or to walk the babies and just get out for a bit:)
I was pretty sick while I lived there, in the hospital for a bit too and then on complete bed rest for about 4 mths of a pregnancy, so I guess I didnt' get out much, but I miss the library there most, it had fictional movies and all kinds of good stuff that the ones in VA don't:( Free movie night for me and the kids:)
Plus I like the people better, they are SO wound around the axle in NoVa! Everyone is too damn important to do anything but work and party until they are senseless.....not good, I miss just being able to relax, though I do believe in the "work hard, play hard" philosphy:)
Shackbase 05-04-2005, 10:52 AM hey hey - I got two old enough to shop daughters... but for me its either best buy or compusa... or if I am really desperate circuitcity...
I'd much rather live on the East coast, better schools - NC would be nice from what I hear.
--Tone
Bob Russell 05-04-2005, 11:09 AM for me its either best buy or compusa... or if I am really desperate circuitcity... Now that's the way to shop! ;)
cbarnett 05-04-2005, 11:35 PM hey hey - I got two old enough to shop daughters... but for me its either best buy or compusa... or if I am really desperate circuitcity...
Heh, _any_ age is old enough for a daughter to shop. If they're 3 or under, mum helps, but after that, they don't need any help!!! :)
Craig (with an 8 year old professional shopper of his own).
Techick 05-06-2005, 08:15 AM my boys (9 and 7 yrs old) and my daughter (4yrs old) are GREAT shoppers!
Yeah dont' get me near a electronics store or a book store or you'll lose me for a while:D
Shackbase 05-06-2005, 08:16 AM thank goodness we're atleast blessed with a borders AND a B&B. :)

Techick 05-09-2005, 07:59 AM We have a killer Barnes and Noble here, but I read mostly on my PDA, no matter how good the paper book is, so it's mostly online buying for me.
I got a 1G MS so I can store more ebooks and audio ebooks for Mommies Day:):):)
Shackbase 05-09-2005, 09:22 AM i should try to read a book on my pda one of these days, I just don't know how I'd like it. can you book mark and make it easy to come back where you left off?
I used to have a limited edition leatherbound Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, lost it in a move, and after seeing the movie this weekend for mothers day; I would love to read it again, perhaps on my pda, how appropriate would that be? :) Is that somethign I could find for my pda?
--Tone
Techick 05-09-2005, 02:18 PM I personally love to read on my PDA as it's always with me and that makes it easy to catch a read as I can, plus I don't have to have a booklight to read in bed:)
I have the Hitchhikers on my PDA, you can get ebooks like that sometimes free at the big "for sale" sites, especially during the holidays.
Write me and I'll help you get set up, if you'd like:) I do support at Palm247, so I am used to getting people going on their PDA's:)
Shackbase 05-09-2005, 02:21 PM im not a palm guy tho... I'm a happy go lucky.. Axim X30 guy.... :)

Techick 05-10-2005, 07:34 AM lol, same diff:D
