I designed a skin for my Kindle at my tego (http://www.mytego.com/) and overall I am pretty happy with it.

My only criticism is the color is a little off and not as rich as the original and the type on the labels is a little large. Unlike the skin I had from decal girl (http://www.decalgirl.com/) it has less pieces which I found easier to put on and it also looks better (notice the piece the covers the key board runs all the way up the second bar and the top as one, this is 3 separate pieces with DG). I do know a few people got theirs with missing pieces, I am sure they would redo it, their customer service seems pretty good. What I love about it, is no one else out there has my design! It also took a little while but I ordered over
the holiday, they made some changes to the back design to allow for the battery and they are in Canada, I think.

Oh and here is promo code I found for free shipping, RFD72490203
hopefully it still works.

Wow that's pretty cool, how long did it take to design? and was it hard to apply the skin to your Kindle?

It did not take long, the site makes it pretty easy. They are also easy to apply, you can lift them up and reapply if you make a mistake.

Well, shoot. I never thought I wanted a skin until I saw this one ... now I'm reconsidering my position. That really is quite lovely.

I used them to skin my laptop, they do a really good job! Now I want to skin my PRS-505 (don't have a Kindle yet).

I'm eagerly awaiting my Tego skin- it should arrive any day now! It was easy to design, they have a ton of beautiful artwork already on their site for you to use if you don't want to upload one of your own. i didn't realize this at first and I'm so glad I went back and played around. Here's what mine will look like:

This skin, is it meant to protect the device or just for art? Does it harm the device if you have to remove it? DOes it tear or pull away? I love the idea of being able to "personalize" my reader, but do not want to possibly ruin it by making it all sticky

It's just for art and personalization. It doesn't hurt the Kindle and is not permanently affixed to it. It removes very easily.

I dont think you have to worry about ruining it, the skins are made with interchangeability in mind.

I never thought I wanted a skin for my electronics until I saw some of the beautiful ones available at Decalgirl and elsewhere. Thanks for sharing yours!

This is very, very cool. I don't like a lot of the premade skin designs that I've seen, but the idea of making my own is exciting!

It looks great, almost reconciles me to the idea of having one of these things. I think I may stick with DG though, they've done my other skins and I'm used to them ;)

You can just send them any picture and they'll make a skin? That's pretty neat. I haven't found many others that I like but if I could make my own, that would be awesome.

I played around for about ten minutes at Tego and this is what I came up with:

Don't know if I'll go for it or not. Any comments?

Yep! Or you can choose from their art, like I did. You can zoom in and out of your picture, move it to the side, etc to find what shows off your picture better.

Oh, and I don't find it distracting, actually. I thought it might, and find it almost like a frame.... it welcomes me into my book!
