I'm going to adopt an adult cat from the shelter. As cute as kittens are, an adult cat is less likely to be adopted, and plus I'll be able to tell better if she/he is a snuggle kitty :D

that is very commendable, lilac jive ! i also adopted an adult cat (with a bonus prize of kittens, since she was actually pregnant at the time), although it was actually sort of in spite of myself and totally unplanned. i'm really glad to hear you're going to give a good home to a kitty who might not otherwise find one. i'm sure you're going to be great friends. :) post photos when you can (so we can lolcatify them :D)

When I was a kid we adopted a cat that was pregnant (we did know it). It was so nice to have a house infested with little kittens :D I think I had permanent scratches on my arms for a while...

oh, i knew she was pregnant as well : she looked like she swallowed a football, and the kittens were born the next morning. having kittens was definitely fun, it was hard to give them away (except for the one i kept :D). it was the entire "having a cat" bit that was unplanned. :rolleyes:
