Hey everyone. Just curious....does the Sony 505 read the eReader format from www.booksonboard.com? I'm waffling between the 505 and the cybook.....

The 505 can read the Adobe ePub and Adobe Digital Editions formats, but not the others. See http://www.booksonboard.com/index.php?BODY=formats for a chart which lists all formats they offer, and devices compatible with each.

The Sony Reader has nothing at all to do with eReader format, and doesn't open it.

This point of confusion is one of the reasons several of us around here can get a bit anal about not calling the PRS devices "eReaders." :nice:

Neither the Sony nor the CyBook can read eReader files. In fact, there's no eInk device currently on the market which can do so.

Even Sony get this wrong - at least here in the UK. My local Sony shop is advertising the device in their shop window as the Sony e-Reader (with a hyphen). Doh!
