I'm wondering, I have a PRS-505, with the main deal on it not being able to read all the books I put on it, sheer volume seems to overwhelm it. I'm sure others have specific devices that they would like to see supported or a specific feature implemented, how can ordinary users help? I'm a linux guy but not a developer but I would love to see support for Openinkpot, enough to buy and send a device if that's necessary. What can users and potential users do to help?

We are in process to have a non-profit company managing donations for us, but not yet set it up.
In meantime you can contact lunohod - it should be possible to either send him a device or transfer money, so he can buy it.

I can create a ChipIn to collect money for a PRS-505 if you wish to donate.

I would actually. Anything to help get this on a PRS-505.
