I finally figured it out with the help of some great people on here. However, the pictures did not appear when I dropped it into Stanza to put on my iphone.

Do I need a converter? and How?

Stanza does not support images in any ebook format.

Another option is eReader, but I don't know what the best method for converting from MOBI to eReader format is.
