BenQ announced (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,,1749340,00.asp) that its P50 will be appearing this spring, with or without a mobile carrier, for somewhere between $650 and $800 street price.

You haven't heard of the P50 yet? The P50 is a quad-band GSM keyboarded smartphone, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular networking, and a 1.3-megapixel camera. It packs an Intel Bulverde PXA272 processor and am SDIO expansion slot, too. It's a bit longer than the Treo, although the keyboard is very similar to the Treo 600's, with similar domed keys.

$650-$800? Is it just me or does that seem quite PRICY? I can easily combine the best of smartphones and PDAs, buy a Treo and a Dell X50v, and stay under $800.

Convergence is bad, and they just added another reason to the pile: price!

Yea, I saw this on engadget the other day and said pretty much the same thing. Hopefully it won't be as f'd up as the 650 either.
