Thought it might be interesting for the Kindle owners here....
Looks pretty good...Hope they will do some cases in the same style for the Bebook too
RickyMaveety 08-20-2008, 02:40 PM Looks nice. Thanks.

Thanks for the info - how clever the cut out on the back to turn the darn thing off and on!!
daffy4u 08-20-2008, 09:10 PM I like it. My Kindle may soon have more outfits than me (which won't be that diffucult) :)
Ervserver 08-21-2008, 01:22 AM very nice
I like the Stylz cover too. My Kindle now has 4 outfits including the one I just made for it myself out of a journal I bought at Barnes & Noble. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3289/2840451071_45b52630a3_b.jpg And if Oberon ever comes out with a cover, my Kindle will have 5 covers.

Very pretty! :)
adfleisher 10-10-2008, 03:58 AM I ordered these a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything from the company. Anyone else order, and if so have you gotten any word of when they'll arrive?
phoenixfire1965 10-10-2008, 02:31 PM :bookworm:I ordered the Avantgarde cover from them. I emailed last week and was told they are in stock and mine should ship this week. Will let the group know if I hear anything more. I previously ordered the M-Edge Executive leather cover and hated it. Returned it in less than a week. Hope this one is better.
Boston 10-10-2008, 09:54 PM Very interested in hearing reviews once this is out. My big question is how much bulkier the tri-fold cover is over the regular book covers like M-Edge.
Yes, phoenixfire, please do. I really like their looks. Please tell us hw well the cover folds back so it can be held while reading.

I ordered and paid for one on the 9th Sept. Still waiting, but I think that they were only taking pre-orders at that time.
Now I am starting to get a bit impatient.:chinscratch:
DickyCheung22 10-14-2008, 08:07 AM dkb, your hand made outfit is very nice! You should consider sell it at amazon if you can made in bulk. :)
adfleisher 10-21-2008, 11:27 AM Anyone actually received one of these cases yet?

You hated it? :( I got one in red right after I got my Kindle and love it....
pbennett 10-22-2008, 03:15 AM Nope, I still haven't received mine. So much for shipping near the end of September. :(

If you go into the Forum and then News and Commentary, then to "STYLZ announces Second Kindle Cover" you will see what their reaction was when I very naughtily made it known that I was not impressed with their support for customers. I haven't received mine yet, but have two e-mails from them.
We will see what transpires.:chinscratch:
phoenixfire1965 10-22-2008, 05:08 PM So I emailed Stylz again. They emailed me back promptly and stated (once again) that the shipping had encountered problems and that my case should ship not later than Monday the 27th of October. I pre-ordered in Sep and have waited semi patiently for over a month. While they do respond I am getting very impatient on the lack of an actual shipment. I would think that Stylz would be anxious to get this out there. I would like some sort of gesture for my trouble, maybe overnight shipping for free. That would be taking care of your customers who pre-ordered on good faith and waited (what I consider) an unbelievable amount of time to receive a product when you take the money right away. Bad business practice Stylz. Let's get it together. :(
STYLZ 10-23-2008, 09:42 AM Hi Phoenix,
You are absolutly right. Of course we want our covers as soon as possible out there but not with an unfinished product our a product that is 99,9% ;)
Ones we shipped all covers we will be back on track with next day shipping, as usual.
Kind regards,
STYLZ
phoenixfire1965 10-24-2008, 11:04 AM So I got an email from Stylz saying that shipping was confirmed for the 27th and they would only be charging 50% of the shipping cost. Hope this case is worth the wait. :book2:
Octochick 10-27-2008, 09:54 AM I found these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GXLJ8C) newly posted covers by Bobarra and ordered one, a little pricey but I love the look of them. I should get it in just a few days as well as my Kindle, so I will let you know how well constructed it is...

pidgeon92 10-29-2008, 01:01 AM On the plus side, it looks like Stylz is shipping the cases quicker than Amazon was able to ship the Kindles last year.... I'd be willing to cut them a little slack, they are in the Netherlands.... Kinda far away from all of us.... Can they even get Kindles out there?
For those of you who ordered a case, how much was the shipping? :bunny:

I paid $6.45 USD, and I got an email from them stating that they are making up the difference as a goodwill gesture.
I ordered and paid on the 3rd September.
adfleisher 11-04-2008, 03:58 PM My cases came in from Stylzworld.com today, and overall I m very impressed with the quality. They are a bit heavier in weight than I expected from the other cases I have reviewed, but overall it isn't much of a hinderance. Stitching is very well done, and the holding system very secure. I especially apreciate the fact that there is about a half-inch above and below the Kindle to help prevent from accidental damage, something notably missing from the other cases I have aquired.
Of the two the Avant Garde is definately more masculine. The Kosmo has a jarring lime green as an internal accent color for the pockets, definately giving it a more feminine look, which is actually disapointing to me, as I typically prefer a natural leather look to black.
I will update with pictures tonight after work, but aside from the long wait time, I don't think anyone who took the risk on this case will be disapointed.

 I am still waiting, and will also give my views when I do receive it, but very pleased that you are happy with yours.

:) Right. I have also now received mine, and agree with all of the above.
If I was being picky (which of course I'm not) I am somewhat disappointed that it is not able to be folded backwards when fully open, as the clips don't work.
Apart from that, I think that it's very elegant and well made.
TallMomof2 11-05-2008, 12:38 PM Okay, I'm on the US east coast and I'm waiting on mine!

Unfortunately, this was the one feature that sold me on considering the stylz cover. Don't want to give up one handed reading (unless its for some other functionality like a built in light).
How thick is the cover with the Kindle inside?
Glad they arrived and everyone is so pleased!!

You can't fold it backwards? Their web site shows the cover folded backwards when reading. Is this incorrect?
adfleisher 11-05-2008, 06:02 PM It folds backwards fine for me. Using it that way right now. If the clips are loose just squeeze them in a bit and then slide the kindle back into them. They may have shifted a bit in transit.

:) I was locked in mortal combat with the clips, now one works - that's a step forward. My hubby doesn't realise it, but he is going to fix the clip tomorrow. Evil - that's me!
For now I have been folding it the opposite way and it works fine, so I can read with one hand.
The spine of the cover is one inch thick and, overall it's 8 1/2" by 5 1/2".
It's a bit heavier than expected, but it's great at protecting the Kindle.
I can still slip it into my handbag. I don't go anywhere with my Kindle and I am trying to dream up a pet name for it.
Cheers.
TallMomof2 11-10-2008, 11:08 AM It's a really nice cover, noticeably heavy but protects the Kindle very well. Had to throw out my red faux leather M-Edge since it was showing a lot of wear around the edges.

I have just reread my post. Duh!!! Of course I take it everywhere with me.:o
krisk 11-14-2008, 01:48 AM People should post pictures of their Kindles "in action" so the rest of us can see how creative everyone is and suffer from true Kindle envy.
BeastMD 02-15-2009, 02:05 AM Some nice features, but UGLY!
MonaLS 02-15-2009, 06:36 PM Some nice features, but UGLY!
Specify? What do you think is ugly?
BeastMD 02-20-2009, 11:32 PM Specify? What do you think is ugly?
Its brown, and it has that ugly croc skin. :p
MonaLS 02-20-2009, 11:38 PM Ah, you don't like the Avantgarde case. There are many other options for the Kindle, hopefully there is one you will like.
kindlenewbie 02-24-2009, 01:22 AM The only reason I sold my Avantgarde case is because it was so heavy compared to the M-edge Exec. Jacket. They are very well made, though.
