View Full Version : CF Device card supported?

Hallo!

I'am trying to figure out if the iLiad would be the right device for me.

I understand the iLiad has a CF-II slot?

Does it then support CF device cards like a WiFi or Bluetooth CF card? By "support" I mean is the slot physical compatible with such cards, and would a proper Linux device driver be able to use such a device?

(I'am thinking to buy a iLad Book Edition, and plug in my good old WiFi CF card I use with my Zaurus-5500G if I need wireless network.)

Thanks,
Seneca

The iLiad has support for CF II slot modems (see here (http://support.irexnet.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=39)), so your card might work physically.

I have no idea about software support though. The WiFi modem in the v2 is connected to some kind of internal CF bus, so your external WiFi card _might_ work too.

Ok, thanks!

I guess I will finally get an iLiad, and then try my cards.
Regarding software support, I have some experience hacking kernel-modules to make "normal" x86 Linux to work with various pieces of hardware.

I will report back once I tried.

Oh, that very interesting. Did you have success ?
I am looking also for the iLiad Book edition. Is it possible to get connection using a Asus Wirless LAN CF Card WL-110 ?
