Now that I've got my new (and only) e-reader, I will give The Onuissance Cells a chance (as soon as I finish reading the current ebook). If I like it, I'll surely buy this Chasing the Light. Excelent price.

Hope you enjoy it! (Sorry about the job...)
scotty1024 06-29-2008, 05:19 PM Now as I recall from last time I bought one of your ebooks I'm left patiently waiting to get an email that will explain how to download my purchase right?
Feedback: it would be nice if you had Paypal take customers to a web page that clearly explains: what is next, how exactly you'll get your goodie.

Right... and as it turns out, Paypal seems to be having e-mail issues for some. I'm looking into it, now.

Something else I need to look into!
Edit: For some reason, PayPal is having issues processing foreign orders, based on the reports I've gotten from foreign purchasers who did not get their download. It doesn't seem to be happening to everyone, though, so I'll have to check further with PayPal on this.
If you don't get your download e-mail within a few minutes of purchasing, contact me directly at stevej@stevejordanbooks.com (mailto:stevej@stevejordanbooks.com), and I'll make sure you get your book!
Edit- Edit: I believe I've taken care of the problem.

I may live in the People's Republic of Washington but last I checked it's still physically in the United States. I sent you a "I want my goodie and read it too!" email from my Paypal registered email account.
You fool around with ePub and look what happens... :)

You're right... turns out it wasn't restricted to foreign accounts.
Donnageddon 06-30-2008, 01:18 AM Now that I've got my new (and only) e-reader, I will give The Onuissance Cells a chance .
I think you will be pleasantly surprised. As much as I whine for more Kestral Voyages... Onuissance is incredible.
My favorite is "Harlequin", it is a great tribute to Harlan Ellison's Repent, Harlequin! Said the Tick tock man.
And, it is one book that gains after every rereading. The way Jordan handles the topic of being "black" is amazing, and unique.
A great book, IMHO.
pieter 06-30-2008, 05:29 AM Wow, that's an amazing price, Steve. We've clashed a couple of times on these boards on IP issues, but I never realised you were actually one of those authors that had fair prices (incredibly fair actually).

Yes, those signatures under each person's post are incredibly hard to find ...
SCNR :p
HappyMartin 06-30-2008, 05:59 AM I have really enjoyed your Steve's books and then down went my reader just as soon as i bought one of the bundles. Should get a new reader soon and then will catch up and get this latest book.
Fair prices? Hell yes.
Joerg_Mosthaf 06-30-2008, 06:50 AM There still seem to be some problems with the download email. I just ordered the "perfect bundle" and "Chasing the Light". Still no download mail three hours later.
I have already written an email to Steve.
I Loved "The Onnuisance Cells" and I'm looking forward to reading the rest :)

Yup, the books are on the way, Joerg!
I apologize to everyone about these weird download problems. I was rushed in getting everything together, but I thought everything was working fine when I announced. But I'll get it fixed (if, for no other reason, than I don't want to be worrying about this during my vacation!).
And to everyone else: Thanks so much for the kind words!

(It's got a touch of Batman and Joker in there, too.)

When I ordered the perfect bundle several months ago, I didn't get my download note during the weekend. That's because the PayPal payment went through as an "electronic check" instead of an "instant transfer" and the download was delayed until after the bank opened on Monday.
In all the time I've been using PayPal, this is the only time that an online purchase was run through as anything other than an instant transfer and I was a bit frustrated having to wait. The wait was worth it.

Please be advised that on the PayPal Receipt of Payment your email is listed as steve@stevejordanbooks.com without the j before the @,. Sending email to that address comes back as "No Such Address"
Also, I ordered the book Sunday night at about 6:15PM EST (from NY) and have not yet recieved the link to download the book.
Thanks

Finally fixed! It took me awhile to figure out where in my PayPal data that was buried!
AMacD 07-01-2008, 10:01 PM Steve, now please update your page so it contains the new book. I have you on an RSS feed and it doesn't show the new book. I would also suggest a techlog entry.
Joerg_Mosthaf 07-02-2008, 04:34 AM Great :) Got the books, put them on my cybook, now I just need the time to read them
Oh well - I feel a bad cold coming on - time to get in some sick time :p

Your wish is my command... a new RSS entry is already up!
hidari 07-08-2008, 09:39 PM Hi Steve,

And I know I said it 3 times already, but... I think I've straightened out the delivery system. Fingers crossed! Also, I now have more detail on the book on the SJB (http://www.stevejordanbooks.com), including the incredible solar cell technology mentioned in the book that is based on actual research being carried out today!
mbovenka 07-11-2008, 06:44 AM Thanks!

OK, this is odd. I distinctly remember replying to this one! It looks like the forum ate my post. ..
It worked for me when I grabbed 'The Perfect Collection' this morning (got the download link 10 minutes later), but when I bought 'Chasing the Light' an hour or so later, it didn't; I haven't received the link yet.

Yeah, I'm not buying this book until at least twelve people have posted complimenting you on the ease with which it was delivered.:D

Received the book on July 20 and read it during my vacation. The future world and the dichotomy of the areas within the U.S. was very interesting (don't want to give too much away). The everyday technology was explained well (without giving the reader a headache), and is prompting me to take a fresh look at my own energy use. Can't wait for the Volt Shoes...
Well done!
Sherri

I'm reading "the onuissance", in mobipocket format. However, every paragraph is followed by 2 or more space lines. That means I have to flip pages a lot more frequently. Sometimes, a screen only has 5 - 6 lines.
And it's not about font size, it's about how the text is formated (too much line spacing). Is this the style of the author, or was it due to format conversion?
mores 07-31-2008, 03:44 AM I like having the paragraphs separated like that, I wouldn't say it's improperly formatted.
pshrynk 07-31-2008, 07:33 AM I finished the book a few days ago and it continues to come to my thoughts as I go through my day. Steve is rapidly becoming one of my favorite "new" authors. He definitely has an upbeat vision of the future that is tempered by a reality based understanding of the present.

Actually, that is due to the wrong version of the book being converted... it should not have been the doublespaced version. My bad. I'll fix that, and make a mention of it in this thread when I do (give me a few days, please!).
This Sunday I'm going to Africa for a few weeks. It would be nice to take your ebook with me, but if not possible, I'll pick it up when I return. :)
mores 08-01-2008, 09:06 AM Never mind ... wrong answer.

So... Is it done?
Steve Jordan 08-28-2008, 12:22 PM So... Is it done?
Umm... 'fraid not. I have not had time to reprocess the book yet. (I've got a backlog of book conversions that's beginning to frighten me.) Sorry.
